Kaui Hart Hemmings

Kaui Hart Hemmings, born Johnston ( born 1975 in Hawaii ) is a Hawaiian author.

Life

Kaui Hart Hemmings was born in 1975 in Hawaii and grew up with her mother. When she was five years old, her mother married the internationally successful surfers and later politician Fred Hemmings. He adopted his step- daughter at the age of 11 years and she took his last name.

Hemmings first attended the Punahou School in Honolulu, then the Colorado College and Sarah Lawrence College in New York City. Then she received a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto.

Her first novel, With your eyes has been published in several countries and was published in 2011 as a film from director Alexander Payne and starring George Clooney, see The Descendants - Family and other matters.

Hemmings is married and has two children.
