Kay Patterson

Kay Patterson ( born November 21, 1944 in Sydney ) is an Australian politician.

Life

After her schooling Patterson studied at the University of Sydney and the University of Monash psychology and pedagogy. After graduation she was employed at various universities in Australia and the United States.

Patterson is a member of the Liberal Party of Australia. From 1987 to 2008, Senator Patterson in the Australian Senate. Patterson was appointed in 2001 to the Minister for Health and Age in Australia as the successor of Michael Wooldridge. This ministerial post she held until 2003. Thereafter, she worked as a successor of Amanda Vanstone as Minister for Families 2003-2006. After the end of their professional career as a politician, she was chairman of the Brockhoff Foundation.
