Aéroport international de Kayes Dag Dag is an international airport in the Republic of Mali northeast of the city of Kayes.

History

The airport was built as a replacement for the south in the town of unpaved airfield Kayes 14 ° 25 ' 52 "N, 11 ° 26' 23" W14.431231 - 11.43975. The new start and runway with a length of 2,700 meters, as well as the taxiways and the 11,000 m2 of concrete pavement were paved, and built a tower and a terminal with approximately 2000 m2 of covered space. The construction work began in June 2009, should be completed by the end of May 2010. However, due to the extension of the runway from 1600 to 2700 meters, the completion could take place until mid-2011.

On 18 September 2011, the airport was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Amadou Toumani Touré and the former airfield, which could only be approached with small machines shut down. A fuel tank farm is still under construction.

The area served by Aigle Azur since November 2011 regular line between Paris and Kayes is currently no longer offered. Until 24 December 2012, the airport by Air Mali was being flown domestic service. Air Mali has ceased operations until further notice.
