Keala Kennelly

Keala Kennelly ( born August 13, 1978 in Kauai ) is an American professional surfer. Kennelly grew up in Kauai in Hawaii. Surfing she learned from her father. Kennelly grew up together with Andy and Bruce Irons. Since 1995 she has been active as a professional surfer.

In 2003 she was vice-world champion of women. In 2005, she was surfing at Teahupoo the highest wave, the woman by tow - in surfing ever rode. 2011 Kennelly suffered severe facial injuries in a fall.

Kennelly was repeatedly active in films with reference to surfing, as in Blue Crush., Step Into Liquid, and in the HBO series John from Cincinnati. In 2001 she was the subject of documentation 7 Girls.
