Keiji Mutoh

Keiji Mutoh (Japanese武 藤 敬 司, Keiji Mutoh, born December 23, 1962 in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan) is a Japanese wrestler, wrestling promoter and Chairman of the Wrestling Association of All Japan Pro Wrestling, AJPW short.

Career

His career began in April 1984 at the NJPW - dojo. He made his debut against Masahiro Chono. Mid-80s, he appeared for a long time in Florida, where he became the first real high flyer in America. Muto played in the U.S., mostly the Great Muta, the stereotypical role of the Japanese Heels ( Face Paint, martial arts, green mist ). In 1989 he came to the NWA, where he had feuds with Ric Flair and Sting, was it even hailed what a novelty for the Japanese was then. The main reason was probably his handspring elbow. He was also part of the new World order.

In the 90s, Muto was a member of the " three musketeers " (next Chono & Shinya Hashimoto ) one of the main people responsible for this golden decade. In 1998, he was relatively bald and has since been seen only with a bald head. After 15 years of countless Moonsaults he had to change his style because his knees were barely strong. So he created, for example, the Shining Wizard, which should find countless imitators soon. 2002 Muto left the New Japan AJPW and joined the competitors. There he became the darling of the owner Motoko Baba. Motoko Baba later gave from their power to Mutoh.

In October 2004, he won the Champion Carnival Tournament of All Japan. His role as All Japan Booker is very controversial. Since August 2005, he also competes at Wrestle One. In 2006, he joined with his Great Muta gimmick the first time in Mexico. In early 2007 he was gebookt for his first appearance in Europe, but the league 1PW went bankrupt shortly before. However, the League RQW took over the bookings of AJPW wrestler, so that its European debut still took place. In 2007 he took his first singles success for some time, when he won the Champion Carnival for the third time. As Great Muta he gave in July 2007, his debut for Hustle. Although he was in the best physical condition for many years, however, he did not manage to win the Triple Crown.

Muto is considered by experts as one of the best workers of all time. His Poison Mist, where he spits a green liquid in the face of the enemy, is one of the most popular moves in the Japanese wrestling fans. The Japanese wrestler Yoshihiro Tajiri uses this move also.
