Keijo Korhonen (sportsperson)

Keijo Korhonen ( born October 7, 1956 in Leppävirta ) is a former Finnish ski jumper.

His international debut Korhonen at the Four Hills Tournament 1978/79 on December 30, 1978 in Oberstdorf. He finished the competition on the normal hill on the 60th place.

A year later he was part of the Finnish team, which took the Ski Jumping World Cup newly created. Already in the first World Cup competition he reached the 4th place in Oberstdorf, the best result of his career. At the end of the season he was on the 57th place in the overall World Cup standings.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1982 in Oslo, he won the team competition, together with Jari Puikkonen, Pentti Kokkonen, and Matti Nykänen behind the teams from Norway un Austria the bronze medal.

The following 1982/83 season was the most successful of his career. He was able to achieve a result in the top 10 on January 30, 1983 in Engelberg with 8th place again. After then on February 18, 1983 also was eighth in ski flying in Vikersund, he ended his active career and Springer finished the season on the 40th position in the World Cup overall rating.
