Keith A. Wester

Keith Albert Wester ( born February 21, 1940 in Seattle, Washington; † 1 November 2002 in Studio City, California ) was an American sound engineer.

Work

After completing his bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles and his master's degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (short: UCLA). Wester began his work as a sound engineer, first in the field of advertising films. Before moving into the film business in 1966, Westerwelle has worked on more than 2,500 commercials. In 1966, he starred in the movie "Rat Pfink a Boo Boo" not only as an actor in appearance, but also was responsible for the section as well as the sound. In the following films such as " Angels from Hell " or "The Photographer" Wester focused only on the sound. Beginning of the 80s Wester was primarily in television for series and TV movies such as " Spenser " or "Previously Frost - A case of AIDS," worked as an engineer until he end of the 1980s, again increasingly turning to the movie. One of his last works, published in the 2003 film " Cradle 2 the Grave " belonged.

Life

Wester was married twice. From his first marriage to divorced Judith Wells he has a daughter named Wendy. With Joan Bursler he was married to his second wife until his death from cancer.

Awards

Westerwelle has been in the course of his career six times in the category " Best Sound " nominated for an Oscar, including for films such as "Armageddon - The Last Judgment " and " The Tempest". He also gewnn an Emmy for his work on the television movie "In the past Frost - A case of AIDS ." He was also nominated four times for a Cinema Audio Society Award and once for a BAFTA Award.
