Kemal Monteno

Kemal Monteno ( born September 17, 1948 in Sarajevo) is a Bosnian and Yugoslav pop singer and songwriter. He is the son of an Italian and a Bosnian woman. His first song Lidija was published in 1967. With hits like Nekako s proljeca Sarajevo ljubavi moja and he enjoyed great success in the former Yugoslavia. The biggest hit is Montenos Nije htjela, which is become an evergreen. This he took in a duet with Croatian artists Oliver Dragojević set to music.

Throughout his career, he took on numerous duets with artists from all over the former Yugoslavia, such as Paula Jusić, Neda Ukraden, Tereza Kesovija, Jellena, Crvena Jabuka Dušan Svilar, Danijela Martinovic and many others.
