Kemal Sunal
Ali Kemal Sunal ( born November 11, 1944 in Doğanyol, province of Malatya, † July 3, 2000 Istanbul) was a Turkish folk actor and screenwriter.
Childhood and youth
Kemal Sunal was born on November 11, 1944 in Doğanyol / Malatya. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to Istanbul. There he attended the Vefa High School in Fatih. Then he took on the Marmara University courses for mass media of radio, television and film, but could not continue due to the prevailing political unrest in the country and the military coup in 1980 the study. He received his degree in 1995 after he won at the age of 51 years.
Career
He made first acting experiences in the early 1970s in the theater (including in the drama zoraki Takip and then later in the theater of Devekuşu Kabare ). 1973 Sunal was discovered by director ERTEM Eğilmez and got first supporting roles in his films. The breakthrough Kemal Sunal as a performer in the successful film Hababam Sinifi ( The Class of Chaos ) based on the novel by Rifat Ilgaz, which had become a best-seller in Turkey. The main character in these films always means Şaban, after the first roll in Hababam.
Between the years 1972 to 1999 he turned a total of 84 films.
Recognition for his acting abilities takes Kemal Sunal 1977 with the award for Best Male Lead of the Antalya Film Festival in film Kapıcılar krali ( King of the caretaker ). His films have become of initially naive 70s comedies with time always sozialkritischeren comedies, but were criticized because of the frequent use of swear words and colloquial languages .
Kemal Sunal died on July 3, 2000 of a heart attack, he - due to his panic fear of flying - suffered during the flight to Trabzon.
He left behind his wife and two children. His son Ali Sunal is also an actor and played with his father in the film propaganda. Kemal Sunal is buried in the cemetery Zincirlikuyu in Istanbul.
