The crime novels

In Galway settled, the books tell the Jack Taylor series about the adventures and misadventures of disgraced former police officer Jack Taylor, who ekes out a ruined by alcohol and drug abuse life as aimless private investigator. The series traces the social change in Ireland Bruens survival time after; Special attention is thereby the decline of the Catholic Church as a social and political power. Apart from the aspect of immigration to our flourishing since the early 1990s, economic development in Ireland is a recurrent theme. Often this is represented as a force that Ireland has transformed into a spiritually emaciated and materialistic society with the still deep social inequality.
