Shamus Award

The Shamus Award is an American literary prize for crime fiction, which is awarded annually by the Private Eye Writers of America ( PWA) since 1982. Will be honored only novels whose main character is a private investigator or other private investigators (eg, lawyer, reporter ) is. Novels in which professional investigators, such as the police or intelligence agents, the main characters are not permitted. The winners are selected by professional members of the PWA Committee. The ceremony will take place in eight categories currently on the PWA awards banquet. On " The Eye" ( derived from " private eye " and " PI" ) called award recognizes irregular an author or a writer for the entire life work ( "Lifetime Achievement Award ", according to the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America ).

Best PI-Serienfigur/Beste PI Series - The Hammer

In this newer category, the Private Eye Writers of America ( PWA) honor the best of character representation of an individual private detective or a private investigator series. The namesake of the award is the protagonist in Mickey Spillane's novels, Mike Hammer. 2013 was no ceremony.
