Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan (* June 5, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American writer who is best known for his novels about the demigod Percy Jackson. He was also successful with his detective book series Tres Navarre. He also wrote the book series Heroes of Olympus and had the idea for The 39 characters whose first volume he wrote themselves.

Riordan studied English and History at the University of Texas at Austin and was then a teacher at schools in California and San Antonio. In 2002 he won the Master Teacher Award. Rick Riordan lives with his two sons and his wife in San Antonio.
