Kenderes

Kenderes [ kɛndɛrɛʃ ] is a city in Hungarian Jász -Nagykun -Szolnok. The town is located east of the Tisza in the Great Hungarian Plain, covers 11,124 acres and has 4,736 inhabitants ( 2011).

History

Kenderes since the 19th century, later to become the headquarters of the Hungarian regent Miklós Horthy family. Its remains were - after the withdrawal of the last Soviet troops from Hungary - transferred from the Portuguese Estoril in 1993 to Hungary and was buried on 4 September in a mausoleum with government grants and under the presence of several Hungarian government members in the local cemetery.
