Kennedy Mweene

Mweene Kennedy ( born December 11, 1984 in Lusaka, Zambia ) is a Zambian football player. The goalkeeper plays since August 2005 in the South African Premier Soccer League for the Free State Stars and is also active in the Zambian national team.

Club career

Mweene played for the Zambian clubs Lusaka and Kitwe United Celtic in Division One, the second division of the country. In early 2006, he was obliged by the South African club Free State Stars and played with the club in the Premier Soccer League. In his first season he was always in the root formation, but lost his job again. At the end of the season the club was relegated to the Mvela Golden League, Mweene the club but remained faithful and was permanently regular keeper.

In the following season they went 18 points clear as a table first sovereign again in the highest national league on, also you could see the Mvela Golden League Cup, a cup competition for the second division win. Also in the 2007/ 08 season was Mweene goalkeeper of Free State Stars. For his achievements in the 2008 /09 Kweene was awarded the ABSA Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season. Since early 2008 Mweene is also responsible for the penalty kicks his team as a shooter.

National team career

Kennedy Mweene came in 2004 against Malawi on his first senior international for the Zambian national team. He previously won in 2003 with the U20 national team to COSAFA U20 Cup. For a long time he remained behind Kalililo Kakonje only substitute goalkeeper, 2005, he came a year after its debut because of a violation of etatmäßgen goalkeeper to one use, while two serious mistakes and had afforded but on the bench again.
