Kenneth Grange

Kenneth Grange, CBE ( born 1929 in London ) is a British industrial designer.

Life

Kenneth Grange attended Willesden School of Arts and Crafts and worked as a draftsman for the Royal Engineers. In the 1950s, he became an assistant of the architect Jack Howe and founded in 1958 his first company Kenneth Grange Design Ltd. .. From 1972 to 1992 he was a partner of he co-founded design consultancy Pentagram, the packaging and products for companies such as Tesco, Boots, 3Com, Swatch, Tiffany & Co, Dell, Netgear, Nike and Timex designed. Grange also designed Wilkinson Sword razors, cameras for Kodak, Ronson lighters desk lamps Anglepoise Lamp Type 3 and Type 75 from 2003/ 04, Parker pens and the exterior design of the British Intercity 125 train. Many of these products have become classics of product design. In 2007 he was a member of the jury of the red dot design award: product design.

In 1984 he was appointed Commander of the British Empire.
