Kenth Eldebrink

Kenth Eldebrink ( born May 14, 1955 in Morjärv ) is a Swedish athlete who was successful in 1980 in the javelin over the years.

He won four national championships:

He participated in two European Championships, and one each at the World Championships and the Olympic Games in part, scoring the following placements:

  • European Championships 1978 in Prague: With 78.60 meters he missed the qualification required width of 80 m clear and came in 15th place
  • European Championships 1982 in Athens: Here were required in the qualifying 80 m, which clearly exceeded Eldebrink with 83.76 m. In the finals, however, he scored only 76.76 m, the number 11 meant (Victory width of Uwe Hohn from East Germany: 91,34 m). But even with his qualifications size he would have won a medal as the third-placed Detlef Michel had come to more than 89 m.
  • At the World Championships 1983 in Helsinki he reached 6th place ( 83.28 m) its best ever international placement, although he had very bad luck: His thrown in qualifying 85.64 m would have given him the silver medal behind Detlef Michel ( gold with 89, 48 m ) is entered.
  • The following year, at the XX. 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles struck finally his hour: the cast in the final of 83.72 meters ( an increase of more than 1.50 m compared to its skill power) ranged for winning the bronze medal behind the Finn Arto Harkonen ( gold with 86, 76 m ) and the British David Ottley ( silver with 85.74 m).
