Uwe Hohn

Uwe Hohn ( * July 16, 1962 in Neuruppin ) is a German athlete who came in by the first documented javelin throw of over 100 meters in the sports history.

Life

Uwe Hohn began in Rheinberg with the javelin. Due to its convincing performance, he received the delegation to the Children and Youth Sports School in Brandenburg, and thus became a member of the ASK forward Potsdam. After several successes at youth level mockery recorded his first international success in 1981 when he won the title at the European Junior Championships in Utrecht and at the same time marked a new continental record. A year later, the Potsdamer also crowned with the seniors to the European champions.

After a year of injury scorn came in 1984 a convincing comeback into competitive mode, as he missed on the 25th May 1984 a new European record of 99.52 meters in the domestic Potsdam the world best by the American Tom Petranoff only 20 centimeters.
