Keri (Swedish: Kockskär ) is an island in the Baltic Sea off the northern coast of Estonia in the Gulf of Finland.

Keri, together with the nearby islands Prangli and Aksi an archipelago. Keri is located 6 km north of Prangli and after Vaindloo Estonia's second most northerly island. The area is 3.1 hectares.

The island belongs to the municipality Viimsi ( County Harju County ).

History

Keri was first mentioned in documents in 1623. 1719 was built by order of Tsar Peter I a lighthouse. The present lighthouse was put into operation in 1803 and 1857 reinforced with a metal top. Since the departure of the last lighthouse keeper in 2003, the island is uninhabited.

In the near Keri is on the seabed, the wreck of the passenger plane Kaleva, which had been shot down in 1940 by the Soviet Air Force.
