Kersti Merilaas

Kersti Merilaas (born 24 Novemberjul / December 7 1913greg in Narva, .. † March 8, 1986 in Tallinn) was an Estonian poet and translator. She also wrote poetry and prose for children and plays.

Life and work

Kersti Merilaas was born Eugenia Moorberg shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. She spent her childhood in St. Petersburg. 1917 returned her mother Anna Moorberg because of revolutionary turmoil in Russia with her two children back to Estonia.
