Kerstin Knabe

Kerstin boy, born Claus (* July 7, 1959 in Oschatz ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympian, who - starting for the GDR - won the silver medal in the 100 - meter hurdles at the World Championships in 1983.

Life

Boy was already successful early over the hurdles. She was three times the 1973 GDR student champion in 1974 to fourth place in the youth competitions of friendship and in 1975 Spartakiadesiegerin WJB and third in the youth competitions of friendship. Kerstin Knabe competed for the SC DHfK Leipzig. She was discovered by Karl Beautiful. From 1973 to 1976 she was trained by Karin Balzer. In her competition time, she was 1.80 m tall and weighed 70 kg.
