Kesselkogel

The Kesselkogel of South - southwest ( Croda Rossa )

The Kesselkogel (Italian Catinaccio d' Antermoia ) is with 3004 meters the highest peak in the Rose Garden Group in the Dolomites. The mountain rises about 20 km east of Bolzano, on the border with the province of Trento, the peak is, however, entirely on the territory of South Tyrol.

The climb to the Kesselkogel can be done from the south and east: Starting from Vajolettal and Grasleiten Pass Hut ( 2,601 m ), or by Donatal and the Donapass ( 2,500 m). The access from the northwest ( Tschamintal ) also via the Grasleiten Pass Hut. The rock is usually fragile. Due to the fixed rope through the western flank and the fixed rope through the eastern flank, following the path of the first Steiger, the Kesselkogel is still one of the most visited peaks of the Rosengarten group. The Kesselkogel is quite clear and is therefore also one of the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites.
