Kęstutis Kėvalas

Kestutis Kėvalas ( born February 17, 1972 in Kaunas) is auxiliary bishop in Kaunas.

Life

Kestutis Kėvalas After leaving school, first from 1990 to 1992 at the Technical University of Kaunas. In 1993 he entered the seminary Kaunas, where he studied until 1997, Catholic theology and philosophy. He then continued his studies at the seminary of St. Mary in Baltimore, where he earned a licentiate in theology. On 29 June 2000 he received at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Kaunas ordination.

Subsequently, he was from 2001 to 2005 director of the Archbishop Propaedeuticum seminary and diocesan youth minister. He also graduated from 2002 postgraduate studies in moral theology at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, where he in 2008 with a dissertation on the subject of nature and objectives of the private sector according to the encyclical Centesimus Annus to Dr. theol. received his doctorate, and was from 2005 to 2006 Spiritual Director of the Archdiocesan Seminary. From 2009 to 2011 he was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the VDU.

On 8 February 2010, he was program director of Radio Maria in Lithuania.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 27 September 2012 as Titular Bishop of Abziri and auxiliary bishop in Kaunas. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Kaunas, Sigitas Tamkevicius SJ, on 24 November of the same year.
