Ketzerbach

The Heretic Bach is a stream in the Saxon county of Meissen.

It rises in the municipality of Nossen near the village Katzenberg at 284 m asl On its course to the west of the river passes through the village Ilkendorf. The Ketzerbach flows around the Radewitzer height ( 304.7 m) to the south and west. Yet his running between the Nossener districts Wolkau and Saultitz leads through and applies the district Starbach to the northeast. Then the Ketzerbach passed the ( also Nossener ) districts boaters, Oberstößwitz, tiller wit and goats grove. Other places on the creek are Graupzig and Neugraupzig, Eulitz, Leuben, Neumühlestrasse, Wahnitz, Mertitz, Zöthain, Daubnitz, Wachtnitz, Pro Fit, Piskowitz and Schieritz. The Ketzerbach finally ends after 29.5 km in Zehren into the Elbe.

The lower reaches of the stream of Zöthain to the mouth of the Elbe was heavily straightened in the past. Between the breakpoint Starbach and Wahnitz south of Lommatzsch the railway from Nossen leads to Riesa by the Ketzerbachtal. The track has been set.

The creek is named for the community Ketzerbachtal and managing community Ketzerbachtal.
