Kevin Amuneke

Kevin Onyekachi Amuneke ( born May 10, 1986 in Eze Obodo ) is a Nigerian football player. He plays since 2009 with Nacional in the Super League, the Portuguese top.

Career

Amuneke began his career with the Warriors soccer in his native Nigeria. As a 16 - year-old he came in 2002 in the B- team of the Portuguese Groklubs Benfica, which he left for FC Porto in 2003. After another year in a B- team he joined in January 2004 to Sweden and signed with Landskrona BoIS. At the end of the first season of the club in Allsvenskan Eleventh. In the following season they did not get beyond a twelfth place and had to play in the playoff round against relegation. In the playoff then they lost against GAIS Gothenburg and dismounted. He was then still half a year in the second division in Sweden, before he returned to Portugal.

For Nigeria played Amuneke been twice during the World Cup qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany he came on June 5, 2005 on his debut against Rwanda. The striker came off the bench in the 79th minute for Paul Obiefule. The match ended 1-1 in Kigali.

Amuneke is the brother of former striker for FC Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon and current football coach and Olympic champion from 1996 in Atlanta Emmanuel Amuneke, as well as Kingsley Amuneke, currently working in Sweden.
