Khamudi

Chamudi was as ancient Egyptian King (Pharaoh) of the Hyksos time of the last ruler of the 15th Dynasty and ruled from around 1549 BC to around 1539/35 BC (after Franke: 1534 to 1522 BC).

Documents

The ruler name is known only from the Turin Royal Canon. There are no contemporary objects that can be attributed to him. In Manetho appears as the last ( according to Eusebius ) or the penultimate ruler of the Hyksos, a certain Archles which is possibly identical with Chamudi. However, this identification is not certain. Kim Ryholt assigns Chamudi to the throne name Hetepibre, which is attested only on scarabs. Archles to have reigned about 49 or 30 years after Manetho. Wolfgang Helck and Jürgen von Beckerath give Chamudi almost 10 years regency. According to a note on the mathematical Rhind papyrus 11 Sile and Heliopolis by Ahmose be conquered in the year, the Theban rulers. It is uncertain whether the given year refers to Chamudi or Ahmose.

Importantly for the chronological dating is the discovery of a spearhead, which reached as loot from Avaris to Thebes: an inscription allows the identification of the years 11 /12 on the Chamudi with the year 18/19 of Ahmose.
