Khromtau
Chromtau ( Kazakh / Russian Хромтау ) is a city in northwestern Kazakhstan.
Geographical Location
The city is located in the Aktobe region near the border with Russia.
Population
According to the latest calculations (2008), the city has 25,518 citizens.
History
Chromtau was granted town rights in 1967.
Economy
In the surroundings of the city are important chromium ore. The main business is the " Voskhod " chromium and nickel mine Shevchenko of Mechel Group.
