Kielcza

Kielcza ( German: Keltsch, 1936-1945: boar forest ) is a street Angersdorf in the Gmina Zawadzkie in Polish Opole Voivodeship. It is located about 50 kilometers southeast of Opole and 50 kilometers north- west of Katowice, on the border of Silesian Voivodeship. The county town of Strzelce ( German United Strehlitz ) is about 18 kilometers away.

Through the town flows the Malapane. About 95 percent of the houses are at a level of about 8 to 10 meters above the river. During high water, such as in 1997, so few homes are affected by the floods of Malapane. The high water table leads but regularly in heavy and prolonged rains in the flooding of basements.

History

1309 were first three places with the name " Kelcza Scarbinu " " Kelcza Wolczhiborni " and "item alia Kelcza " mentioned.

1777 the wooden church of Keltsch was destroyed by a storm. 1779 was followed by a stone building.

1831 Sandowitz was part of the parish Keltsch.

On September 30, 1928, the Gutsbezirk Keltsch was incorporated into the rural community Keltsch.

1933 Keltsch 1,486 inhabitants. On July 4, 1936 Keltsch was renamed boar forest. 1939 Boar Walde 1,766 inhabitants.

1972 saw the Gmina Zawadzkie, Kielcza was incorporated into the new church.

Attractions

The most important building of Kielcza is the Baroque parish church of St. Bartholomew. It was built in 1777-1779 on the ruins of the wooden old building. It consists of the church building and a free-standing bell-tower. The original steeple had only a height of nine meters and was increased in 1903 to 20 meters. The oldest bell of the church dates back to 1467th It was the end of the 19th century / early 20th century, purchased by the St. Michael's church in Waldenburg.

Another significant building in Kielcza is the Wooden Hut, built by Father Franz Heisig in 1832. A long time it was used as a hospital, among other things, in the cholera epidemic. During the socialist era, she fell heavily. After the turn they could be saved and restored before the final decay in time. Today it is the oldest building in the town Zawadzkie and documents the historical form of house building in the region. The cottage is now used as a museum, parish library and cultural center.

Personalities

The most famous son of the town is the Dominican priest and author of the best-known medieval Polish hymn ' " Gaude Mater Polonia " Vincent de Kielcza (Polish Wincenty z Kielczy, also Wincenty z Kielc, Mistrz Wincenty ). For a long time it was assumed that Vincent comes from Kielce, as it was originally known under the name "de Kielc ".
