The castle was destroyed in 1432 by monks of the monastery Belbuck under the leadership of lay brother Johann Svaldecke and the help of citizens of the cities Kolberg and Treptow ( Trzebiatów ), where Heinrich and Johann Madtuvel Svaldecke died. However, the monastery Belbuck subsequently condemned by the universal plunder Treptower citizens who transported away even the field stones from the walls of the castle to it to build the Kolberger gate in Treptow. In the 18th century Kölpin was divided into four parts. The ownership of the estate changed later several times. Around 1925 Kölpin had about 700 inhabitants.
