Kiesby (Danish: Kisby ) is a village in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. It is located south of Suederbrarup near the Schlei and the Baltic Sea. Since March 1, 2013, the formerly independent municipality Kiesby part with brake Watt, Kaltoft and Kiesbyfeld to the municipality Boren.

History

Kiesby was first mentioned in 1386. The place name means village or settlement of Kisi.

Until about the end of the 1940er/Anfang the 1950s was close to the village crossroad in Kiesby a large windmill ( a gallery - Dutch ) in the flour to a bakery and pastry shop & grocery store was ground of national importance. The building of the former bakery still exist today.
