The Kiewa River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Victoria and a major tributary of the Murray River.

The source is located south of Victoria's highest mountain, Mount Bogong Alpine National Park near the Clover Power Station at the confluence of Rocky Creek Valley and Pretty Valley Creek. From there, the Kiewa River flows north and empties after 109 km at Albury in the Murray River.

The water of the river are retained by the dams of the Kiewa Hydroelectric Scheme, which uses the river and its source and tributaries. The power plants McKay Creek and West Kiewa are the most important of the system, which covers the peak electrical load in Victoria.

The largest tributary is the Kiewa River West Branch, which flows into Mount Beauty in the Kiewa River. From there, the river flows through rich farmland to its confluence with the Murray River. Riverside lie the small towns Tawonga, Tagambalanga, Kiewa and Yackandandah.
