Kilronan

Kilronan ( Irish: Cill Rónáin ) is the main town and ferry port on Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands off the coast of County Galway in the west of Ireland.

Inishmore is by far the largest and westernmost in Galway Bay inhabited the Aran Islands, which belong to the Gaeltacht. From the Census of 2006 identified 824 residents of Inishmore lived 259 people in Kilronan, located in the northeast of the island. The main sources of income of the village are fishing and tourism. In Kilronan several pubs and restaurants, and a supermarket ( with the only ATM on the island) and a bank are available.

Ferries to Kilronan drive from Doolin in County Clare and Rossaveal ( ir Ros Mhíl ), which is about 22 km west of Galway City, Connemara. South of Kilronan is the airport of Inishmore.
