Little is known about his biography. These rumors have been officially but not confirmed. According to Kenji Fujimoto, a former chef (1988-2001) of Kim Jong- il, Kim Jong- chol was effeminate and not taken seriously by his father. According to his father, Kim Jong- chol, have not the format and requirements to become his successor. Instead, Kim Jong- il had in 2010 his youngest son Kim Jong-un destined for his successor.
