Kim Kye-gwan

Kim Kye - kwan ( born January 6, 1943 in Unsan, Province P'yŏngan - pukto ) is a North Korean diplomat and politician. He is the Deputy Foreign Minister of North Korea.

Kim Kye - kwan studied French at the University of International Relations in Pyongyang. His diplomatic career began in 1969 at the North Korean embassy in Algeria. In the 1980s he worked in the Pyongyang Foreign Ministry. As a senior diplomat he first came into existence as he gave the Party Secretary Kim Yong -sun to New York accompanied for talks with Deputy U.S. Secretary of State Arnold Kanter 1992. In addition, Kim represented his country at several times further negotiations with U.S. officials, among others to the North Korean nuclear weapons program. He also took part in the six- party talks.

Kim Kye - kwan considered an expert on North Korea's relations with the U.S.. He is fluent in Korean and English and French.
