King of Thorn

King of Thorns (Japaneseいばらの王, Ibara no Ō ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Yuji Iwahara. She is assigned to the His - genre and tells the tale of a group of terminally ill people who wake up in a hostile environment for them after a cold sleep and have to fight to survive there.

Action

In the near future, humankind is threatened by the dangerous illness "Medusa". Anyone who suffers from this disease, petrified within six weeks alive. King of thorns appeared in Japan from October 2002 to October 2005 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Comic Beam, in which Kaoru Mori's manga series Emma - A Victorian Love was published. Enterbrain summed up this single chapter together in six paperback books.

In German the six volumes of the manga from November 2005 to January 2007 was published by the Tokyopop publishing. From November 2012 to April 2013 a German edition appeared in three double volumes.

The manga was installed as King of Thorns in the U.S. at Tokyopop, in France, he came under the title of Roi Soleil at ronces and in Spain with Glénat as King of Thorn out.

Anime

The film was named Ibara no Ō - King of Thorn premiered on May 1, 2010 in Japan. In Germany he appeared as King of Thorn 26 November 2010 on DVD.

Awards

The manga was nominated for the 2006 Seiun Award for Best Comic, but Reiko Okanos Onmyoji had to concede defeat.
