The King Saud University (Arabic: جامعة الملك سعود, DMG Ǧāmi ʿ at al -Malik Sa ʿ ūd, English: King Saud University) is a university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with around 50,000 students.

The university was founded in 1957 by King Saud ibn Abd al - Aziz as Riyadh University and is the oldest university in Saudi Arabia. The University has long been the only higher education institution in the country with secular rather than the Islamic curriculum. In 1982 it was renamed in its present name.
