Kingston Harbour

The port of Kingston ( Kingston Harbour engl. ) is a seaport in the town of Kingston in Jamaica. It is located in the bays Cagway Bay and Hunts Bay in the Caribbean Sea.

North of the harbor is the capital Kingston, Portmore east it borders. About 10 km before the dock in the southeast is the Norman Manley International Airport on an island.

The harbor in the southeastern part of Jamaica is the seventh largest port in the world. Operators and managers since 1972, the Port Authority of Jamaica, a public corporation.

The predecessor Port Royal (approx. 1650 to June 7, 1692 ) was destroyed in an earth- quake and. The port of Kingston was recently expanded and modernized in 1964. Currently, the systems are extended and renewed.
