Kirchberg, Luxembourg

The Kirchberg is located in the northeast of the city of Luxembourg.

It is through the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge ( " Red Bridge ") with the city center connected.

On the Kirchberg, numerous banks, European institutions and authorities have established, including for example, the European Court of Justice (ECJ ), the European Court of Auditors, the European Investment Bank, part of the General Secretariat of the European Parliament, Eurostat and the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law (see also: European quarter ( Luxembourg ) ).

In addition, the headquarters of the RTL Group, the exhibition center of Luxembourg ( Foire ), the European School, Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce as well as the largest sporting and cultural Luxembourg, the " Coque ", and the largest cinema in the city are located in the district ( Utopolis ).

In 2005, the newly constructed building of the Philharmonie Luxembourg was inaugurated on the Kirchberg on the Place de l'Europe. It has a capacity of 1,500 listeners.

In 2006, the Musée d'Art Moderne Grand -Duc was inaugurated Jean ( Mudam ) close to the Philharmonic. The museum building is situated on the hillside facing the town of Kirchberg on Fort Thiingen ( Dräi Eechelen ), it has been designed by architect IM Pei, which is why it in the language mostly as Pei Museum (French Musée Pei ) is called.
