Klaas Balk

Klaas Cornelis Hendrik Balk (born 27 December 1948 in Badhoevedorp ) is a former Dutch cyclist.

Four times was Klaas Balk Dutch champion on the track in 1967, 1969 and 1970 in the 1000 -meter time trial and 1972 in tandem race, together with Peter van Doorn.1969 he finished at the Track World Championships in Brno finished third in the time trial.

1968 and 1972 launched Klaas Balk at the Olympic Games. 1972, at the Olympic Games in Munich, he was fourth in the sprint. He was then for three years professional racer. During this time he also drove successful road race. He won in 1971 and 1972 respectively a stage of the Olympia's Tour. In 1973 he was European Vice-Champion in a two - team driving, together with René Pijnen.

Today Balk operates in Nieuw- Vennep a bicycle shop with two branches.
