Klassekampen

Class Kampen ( German class struggle ) is a left Norwegian daily newspaper with editorial headquarters in Oslo. It was founded in February 1969 and has long been the party organ of the Marxist- Leninist party AKP.

The newspaper conceived itself as the newspaper of the Norwegian left. Their official motto is: "The newspaper class Kampen should run a serious critical journalism with a wide range of political and economic revelations about exploitation, oppression and environmental destruction - as well as help from a basic socialist perspective to ideological critique, organization and political struggle against such relationships and encourage ". Since 2002 Bjørgulv Braanen is editor in chief. Its predecessor was the crime writer Jon Michelet. According to its own statements, the newspaper reached a daily readership of 50 to 90 thousand people. In addition to political issues, it offers discussions and comments on literature, theater and art.

History

The newspaper was founded in 1969 during an internal dispute in the former Socialist People's Party, after its youth organization resigned from the party. She was until January 1973, the monthly organ of speech to a group of Marxist-Leninist youth. Then it was taken over by the newly founded Communist Party AKP (ml ) and was from then on in a weekly edition out. Later it became a daily newspaper. The formal relations with the ACP in 1991 and broken up written today's theme. After got the newspaper during the 1990s in a financial crisis, the ACP reduced its stake to 20 percent.
