Klaus Hennig

Klaus Hennig ( born January 27, 1944 in Breslau) is a former judoka from the German Democratic Republic (GDR). In 1970 he won at the European Championships.

Hennig grew up in Schwerin and was delegated to the SC Dynamo Berlin, where he was in the heavyweight successor to Karl Nitz. Hennig won in 1966 and 1967 because GDR Champion title at heavyweight. After the removal of the Judo Department for SC Dynamo Hoppe Garden of protégé of coach Gerd Schneider won from 1970 to 1972 in both the heavyweight and in the Open category. 1966, 1967 and 1968, he received at the European Championships bronze medals in the Open category, 1967, he won an additional bronze in the heavyweight division. In the Judo European Championships 1970 in East Berlin Hennig won the final against the Dutchman Wim Ruska. In 1972, Hennig won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Voorburg. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 Hennig was eliminated in the heavyweight division against Klaus Glahn and in the open class against Angelo Parisi.

Hennig was a trained screen printers, as a member of Dynamo he belonged to the guard regiment Feliks Dzerzhinsky, where he was a lieutenant. After the turn Hennig worked as a physical therapist.
