Klaus Hesse

Klaus Hesse (born 1954 in Elberfeld ) is a German graphic designer.

Life

Klaus Hesse studied photography and typography at the University of Wuppertal. Together with Christine Hesse 1988 he founded Hesse Design in Dusseldorf and from 2001 to 2004 in Berlin. The office is also responsible for the corporate design of Audi, Bewag, DEKRA, City of Dusseldorf, Messe Stuttgart, Swarovski and World Heritage Middle Rhine. It has often been nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany and won over two hundred national and international awards. 2006 Klaus Hesse won the traditional competition for the appearance of the Kiel Week 2006.

From 1993 to 1999 he was Professor of Communication Design at the FH Dortmund and Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Since 2000 Klaus Hesse directs the study Communication Design at the Academy of Design in Offenbach am Main. In the creative colleges 2006 Focus magazine ranking of the study he conducted focus became the first rank. Since 2011 he has been Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication.

Klaus Hesse was one of the initiators of the 11 designers for Germany at the 2006 World Cup, the first Graphic Design Biennale Germany China 2010 and was from 1998 to 2013 chief editor of the annual magazine " sushi ". He led numerous lecture tours and workshops among other things, Krakow / Poland, Puebla / Mexico, Basel / Switzerland and in the Chinese cities Beijing (Peking), Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Chongqing and in Sydney / Australia. Hesse is a member of the Type Directors Club New York.
