Klec (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Klec ( German Kletz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers north of Trebon and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Klec is located on the right bank of the Lainsitz in Trebon Basin in the area of the existing since 1977 UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Třeboňsko. In the north and south are more eleven fish ponds. At the opposite Lainsitzufer the railway from Tábor passes by Trebon, the nearest train station is in just two kilometers away Lomnice nad Lužnicí.

Neighboring towns are Frahelž and Val in the north, Kolence in the east, Lužnice in the south, Lomnice nad Lužnicí the southwest, Záblatí in the west and Ponědraž in the northwest.

History

, Located at the boundary of the dominions Ústí, Straz and Trebon village was first mentioned in 1388 in a document Ulrich I. von Rosenberg. It is believed that the place belonged to the lords of Straz before the Rosenbergs. Through this boundary layer Klec changed hands several times between the dominions. At the beginning of the 15th century, were once again the Lords of Straz owner of Klec. They build around 1400 at the castle pond Klec flight home. Until its sale in 1578 Klec was part of the rule Straz.

From the castle flight home only a wooded hill on the Klec Pond has been preserved. To him, the legends dealing from a lady of the castle, the goes for a walk with their children than White women around the ponds Klec, Potěšil and Naděje.
