The Little Hen is a 15.3 km long, orographic right tributary of the hen in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany. The creek flows in Hochsauerlandkreis, mainly through the city of Meschede.

Geography

The Little hen rises about 700 m northwest of Westernbödefeld to 482 m above sea level. NN. From here it flows primarily in a northwesterly direction. After about 600 m stretch of river the stream leaves the urban area Schmallenberg, flows through Frielinghausen, Höringhausen, Drasenbeck, Löllinghausen, Beringhausen, Heggen and Löttmaringhausen before in the south of Meschede right side to 263 m above sea level. NN flows into the hen.

On its 15.3 km long road of Bach overcomes a difference in altitude of 219 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 14.3 ‰. The Little Hen drains a 39.832 km ² large catchment area about Henne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

Tributaries

Longest tributary is the 4.7 km long Doorne with a 6.1 km ² catchment area. The following are the tributaries are called in order from the source to the mouth, by the district government of Cologne (formerly Ordnance Survey ) will be performed. Indicated are the orographic position of the mouth, the length, the size of the catchment area, the height of the mouth and the water code.

Note

In the upper reaches of the waters deployment of the Cologne district government follows Dept. GEOBasis.nrw not the German base map at a scale of 1:5000 and various topographic maps. The deployment does not follow the known as Little hen in the German base map stream ( TVC 27,614,616 ). Rather, the stationing of the streams Doorne and Gelmecke is performed, which is an error in the waters deployment. This article is based on the German base map 1:5000.
