Knut Fægri

Knut Fægri ( born July 17, 1909 in Bergen, † 10 December 2001) was a Norwegian botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Faegri ".

He received his doctorate in 1934 for studies on the vegetation of the moraines on Nigardsbreen in Jostedalen. With this work he laid the foundation stone for the lichenometry.

Together with John Iversen he led Lennart more of Posts and ideas related pollen finds on plant geography, climate change and human impact. With Leendert van der Pijl, he also worked on the ecology of pollen.
