Lennart von Post

Lennart by mail ( * June 16, 1884; † January 11, 1951 ) was a Swedish geologist and 1929-1950 Professor of Geology at the University of Stockholm. With his published in 1916 diagrams Pollen analysis of pupils by Rutger Sernander considered the founder of Palynology.

In 1930 he took over the chairmanship of the Swedish Federation of Geologists ( Geologiska Föreningen ). He examined pollen in peat vermoorter lakes. With the aid of the microscope, he determined the plant genera and counted out the percentages of trees, shrubs and grasses, creating a Relative chronology was possible.
