Kodjovi Mawuéna

Kodjovi Djikopor Mawuena ( born December 31, 1959 in Tsévié ) is a Togolese football coach and former international player. He is the co - coach of the Togolese national football team, and supervised the team in recent years, repeated intermittently as national coach.

In his time as an active player (Position: defender ), he led the Togolese national team in the African Cup of Nations in 1984 as team captain.

In the African Cup in 2000, he replaced Gottlieb Goeller as national coach, who stepped down after the first game.

During the World Cup 2006 he was a member of the Togolese coaching staff. As a coach, Otto Pfister and his assistant Piet Hamberg resigned on June 9 because of an unresolved dispute premiums, took Mawuena, who had previously acts as the second assistant coach, on an interim basis, the Office of the trainer. However, he managed only a single training since Otto Pfister already on June 12, returned to his post.

In qualifying for the African Nations Cup 2009, the Togolese national team was defeated in May 2008 under his leadership against Ghana.

After Henri Stambouli 2008 had left the Togolese national team coach, Mawuena took over his duties for six months. During this time he led the Togolese national team in qualifying for the African Cup of 2010 to victory against the Swaziland national football team. At the African Cup of the team but did not participate after an attack on their bus to pressure the Government of Togo despite qualification.

In addition Mawuena also coached several football teams in the Togolese Football League, including Dynamic Togolais (Lomé ). In 2004 he was elected to his home country for "Coach of the Year."
