Reviews

" As if the father applied to the Son, was with The Poppy Mountain of direct counterpoint to Tales from Earthsea. No grossly exaggerated, hollow fantasy epic, but an intimate, focused on a few figures Coming Of Age history, shaped by a country that was in a crisis of identity between world war trauma, tradition and economic change. A deeply personal narrative that any loud, avoid accented tones or external influence and concentrates entirely on the inner lives of the two young protagonists. If Earthsea was a clumsy spectacle; a rock that drops out of control and roaring into the water, similar to The Poppy Mountain a round cut, small pebble that bounces sent over the water surface and dances.
