Kołacz, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Kołacz ( German: Kollatz, also: Collatz ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is part of the rural municipality ( gmina wiejska ) Połczyn -Zdrój ( Bad Polzin ) in the powiat Świdwiński.

Geographical location

Kołacz is located six kilometers east of Połczyn -Zdrój on a side road connection from Połczyn -Zdrój on Ogartowo ( Jagertow ) to Krosino ( United Krössin ). The eastern municipal boundary is also the boundary between the powiat Świdwiński and the powiat Szczecinecki, and bordered on the west the Dębnica ( Damitz ) the village. Kołacz was until 2001 a railway station on the route Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) - Barwice ( Bärwalde ).

History

Originally Kollatz of a manor and a farming village. For centuries it was a von Manteuffel cal fief until it finally passed into the possession of this family. For this property also Good New Kollatz belonged (now Polish: Kolaczek ). The outworks Heath, Kirchdorf, Sophienhof, mill pitcher, Waldhof and Nemrin ( Niemierzyno ) were also part of Kollatz.

In 1863 the community had 503 inhabitants with 59 fireplaces, 1939, 805 inhabitants counted in 195 households. Besides the good and several farms there was a Gutsbrennerei and a sawmill. A carpentry, blacksmith shop, a construction company and a shoemaker's workshop were independent craft enterprises. There was also a general store, a wheelwright's shop, an inn, a post office, a primary school and a forester.

By 1945 Kollatz belonged to Belgard. The place was a separate administrative and civil registry district in the District Court area Bad Polzin. Last mayor was Max Marquardt, last Chief Administrator Albert Zamzow, and last registrar Artur Zaske. On 4 March 1945, the villagers undertook an unsuccessful escape attempt. On March 5, 1945 the Red Army troops occupied the village. The distillery went up in flames, and numerous houses and barns were destroyed by fire. The village was a result of World War II to Poland, and in November 1945 began the expulsion of the German population.

Today Kołacz is a district of the rural community Połczyn -Zdrój.

Church

Kołacz has its own church, which was built in 1750 by Heinrich von Manteuffel. It stands in place of the front of 1496 by Engelke and Gerdt of Manduvel established church, which was, like the village, devastated by fire. On the Empor parapets were numerous (at least 18) family crest of the women who had married into the past centuries in the family von Manteuffel. In 1987 the church was completely restored, but still lack the organ, the coat of arms gallery, the entire pews, and the altar.

Kollatz was until 1945 a separate parish and daughter church in the parish of Great Poplow (now Popielewo ). It belonged to the Church of the Church Province of Pomerania Belgard county in the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union. Church saint was last Marie von Manteuffel. Last German pastor, Martin Vedder, who, drawn up for military service, was missing in the Crimea since 1944.

Today Kołacz belongs to the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) of the Polish Evangelical Church of the Augsburg ( Lutheran ) Confession. Parish seat is Świdwin ( Schivelbein ). The village church is used by the Catholics as God's house and is considered a landmark in the region.
