Koliba

Koliba ( German straw hut ) is an unofficial part of the Bratislava district of Nové Mesto (New Town) at the foothills of the Little Carpathians. He is part of the Bratislava Forest Park, a popular tourist destination. Here are the TV tower on the mountain Kamzík Bratislava ( German Gemsenberg, 439 m asl ), the movie studios Koliba, a 1 km long chairlift ( opened in 1972, closed down in 1989 and since 2005 in operation) as well as villas of wealthy residents.

The name is derived from the former guest house thatched hut; This was popularly known koliba, and later as the whole district was called.
