Koljala is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Sonda ( Sonda vald ). It is located in Ida -Viru county (East Wierland ) in northeastern Estonia.

Description and History

The village has 38 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2009). Koljala is located south- southwest of the city Kiviõli.

The place was first mentioned in records in 1241 Liber Census Daniae. In 1975, the hitherto independent village Uuemõisa Koljala was incorporated.
